Wolf Skull Mask Papercraft

E-mail Print

Here we are in the "spooktober" again and this time I have release a pretty spooky mask. Combine it with hoodie and a long hair wig will make it even spookier for this Halloween. My son always charge me and hitting me whenever I wear this mask, somehow it made him uncomfortable [lol].  At first I already planned to make a horse mask, but stumbled upon some creepy wolf skull mask on Google image search and divert the plan. The horse can wait. Unlike most of my template, this one I use bitmap texturing, still learning but quite happy with the result. I recommend to use paper above 160 gram, because in build test I use 100 gram HVS and it was quite hard to assembly, but it can be done for skilled builder.

DHC-2 Beaver N92AK

E-mail Print

We have a new livery for our DHC-2 Beaver. Recolored by Jonathan Norman, he said he used to fly with his friend who flew N92AK Beaver. When his friend asked him where to find a wooden scale model of a DHC Beaver, he had something else in his mind.     This paper model is in 1/32 scale. Big enough to have a decent details. The model wing will have about 45 cm wingspan. You need to use 3 type of paper or card, for the main template 160-200 gram card will be good and for the struts and spinner you will need 80-100 gram paper and the last is 1 mm thick cardboard. I also made a new numerical system, the formers will have F letter on the front and G for glue-tabs and each elements have the same number, in example if part 4 has glue-tab it will be G4 and if it has former, it will be F4. I made a slide show video on youtube about this build, you can watch it here. Please Subscribe my channel of you like :).

Extra 300 RC Plane 900 mm

E-mail Print

This new category originally was named AR Drone 2 Custom Hull. Starts from now I change it to "RC Projects". Just like the name this category will hosted many RC (Radio Controlled) projects from aircraft, boat, car or even robot, with different kind of materials not just paper, can be foam, wood, plywood, plastic, etc. I begin with this RC plane Extra 300. I use 2 kind of materials which is 3 and 5 mm foam sheet, it's familiar with the name depron foam, but in where I live it is called "polyfoam". The 2nd material is 3 mm and 9 mm plywood. The design process of this foamy RC plane is pretty similar from designing a papermodel or papercraft. The build process is also similar.

SpaceX Falcon Heavy Papermodel

E-mail Print

Four Days ago on the evening I went to 9GAG and saw a post about a successful launch of Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon Heavy. I realized it was not so late, so search on Youtube and find the live video, but just to found out it's already a replay. I watched it and got goose bumps on my arms when I saw the two boosters landed smoothly, just like in some scifi movies, it was awesome. I can imagine what were people anticipating when watch that video on live, it must have been a thrill. I closed Youtube and began to research images and dimension data to begin design that rocket. I found an image about Falcon Heavy size comparison with some famous rockets and a Saturn V rocket. I already made Saturn V in 1/300, so I use Saturn V scale to be use on Falcon Heavy. The template is best to be printed on 100 to 120 gram paper. Because the model is small I reduce some details, the real one has 27 individual cone exhausts, with 9 exhaust each rocket, but in this 1/300 I had to simplify it. All the build photos were made using 100 gram HVS paper. You can have 1/00 model for $5 that you can buy on the link below. I also made a slideshow video on Youtube. like and subscribe please :).

DHC-2 Beaver 1/32 Papermodel

E-mail Print

This is my first paper model in 2018 after months in a hiatus. I don't know how to describe it, but it's not a comeback release. I'm still struggling to find a way to make more models as in the past. I can't promise you anything this time. But I was enjoyed designing this template and build it myself after so long haven't got a chance to do it. About a month ago I play so many hours in Microsoft Flight Simulator X for the first time. In the early computer game age, I was into simulator games, like Chuck Yeager Combat Simulation, F-117 Nighthawk or A-10 Tank Killer. All still in DOS format, but when Microsoft Flight simulator came I haven't tried it yet until last month. It was very addictive if I may say, it brings back a joy of flight sim experience, with lots of keyboard commands like the real plane. And then this Kenmore Air DHC-2 Beaver caught my eyes,  I have to make a paper model of it, because it's a beautiful plane. I'm also planning to make it flyable as an RC model plane, but first I need to make the paper model first. So here it is, the model is in 1/32 scale. Big enough to have a decent details. The model wing will have about 45 cm wingspan. You need to use 3 type of paper or card, for the main template 160-200 gram card will be good and for the struts and spinner you will need 80-100 gram paper and the last is 1 mm thick cardboard.
