Boeing PT-17 Stearman - Army Trainer Plane Paper Model

E-mail Print

This is a model of Boeing PT-17 Stearman, from WWII era. A biplane from 40s, it was used as a trainer plane for many US fighter pilot. Now the plane use for acrobatic shows, private owned or even for crop dusting. I always combine many my hobbies into one if possible. As you may have know on my Facebook I've been busy experimenting with my new hobby, scratch building an RC plane using foam. The design method for foam aircraft model is pretty similar to paper model template version, but it's already simplified even more. I re-use the 3D model for making paper model template. The scale is 1:40 the same scale as the existing Wilga model. The template use formers and inner glue tabs, so you need to provide 2 kind of paper. You will need cardboard for its formers/ frames and 100 gram paper for the skins.

Blank Template Optimus Prime Torso AOE is released

E-mail Print

Blank template for torso part of the Optimus Age of Extinction is released. It was quite hard to separate the part into different color, because the number of black and grey/ silver are similar. In some part you have to combine few color to become one part by using the colored template for reference, because there are no guidelines. You need 6 colored papers, which are black, silver, red, dark blue, gold and chrome.

E-mail Print

America has "The Red tails" Mustang in World War II, We have "The Red Beak" Mustang or "Cocor Merah" in translation. While Red Tails is a nickname for P-51D Mustang that belong to USAAF 332d Fighter Group or Tuskegee in 1944, Red Beak is also a nickname for ourAir Force (AURI) Mustang in 1950s. AURI got them from The Kingdom of the Netherlands, but the irony they also used to fight off the Dutch from us in later confrontation in mid 1950s. The Mustang still used by the AURI for various military operation until they were grounded in early 1970s because of the aircraft are getting old and lack of spare parts support. This paper model template was recolored by Dani Hamdani, model on the photos were built by him.

It feels like I haven't update my site for quite a while :). I was preparing a new website about foam RC plane. I have to prepare the contents for it. But here I am back again, I just uploaded 14 pages PDF file for colored template of Optimus Prime Age of Extinction torso parts. The torso part looks complicated but actually it's quite simple with big parts and simple geometry shape. It's just the texture that made it looks hard to build. My work in this part is not finish yet, I still have to prepare for the blank template. After torso part I will continue making hip and leg part.

Boeing 777-200 British Airways Paper Model

E-mail Print

Another Boeing 777 airliner model papercraft template, this time I made British Airways triple seven (B777-23/ER). This Waterside based airline has 43 of B777-200ER airplanes. There is something new in its logo, a crown logo added beside British Airways logo. The template is exactly the same as previous B777-200 model, only different is on the livery. The assembly instructions is the same as well. For you who is not familiar with model with inner glue tabs perhaps find this model hard, but if you try it according to the instructions I'm sure you will find this method is easier than ordinary pepakura style glue tabs.
