Atlantis Space Shuttle Paper Model

E-mail Print

I had a space shuttle pencil sharpener when I was a kid, it was a die-cast metal with bronze color. I love it so much but I don't know where it is now. I want to make a paper model of a space shuttle subject for so long, but only now I have the chance to make it happen. So here it is, a 1:150 scale paper model of a Atlantis space shuttle STS-135. I choose Atlantis because it was the last orbiter that ended NASA space shuttle program. Atlantis completed its last mission and last flight on July 21, 2011. The paper model is using mixed of glue tabs style, conventional glue tabs and separate glue tabs for smooth seams. If you're new to this kind of method you can learn about separate glue tabs on Airliner category. This model is quite simple if compare to other templates with the same subject on the net. The complete model will have about 40 cm or 15.8 inches in height. I challenge you to add your own custom details :), have fun with it.

Where's Wally / Waldo Paper Craft

E-mail Print

I still remember when I was in elementary school, my friend brought a book with lots of pictures but not a comic, we have to find a person with a distinctive outfit in the crowded beach, park or town scenery. It's very interesting, even though he's wearing a unique red white stripe long arm T-shirt, it's not helping much, it's still hard to find him. The book is titled Where's Waldo. I just know that Waldo has many names. in the US and Canada, he called Waldo but in the UK and Europe also called Wally. The book series is created by the English illustrator Martin Handford. I'm surprised there's no Wally / Waldo paper craft out there, so here it is, I made it for Waldo fans. Now you can make your own Where's Wally scene, by putting this paper craft in the crowded area and take a picture with your camera and the game begins for your friends and family.

Hulkbuster Paper Model - Arm (Final)

E-mail Print

I am sorry for late release of this final part, I've done my best. It is ready for download, the template contains 23 pages of patterns. The blank template will followed soon after this. Like the previous part, the arm part still needs 2 type of material beside ordinary plain paper, you will need 2-3 mm thick cardboard. The fingers are fixed, but perhaps if I still in the mood after this, I'll make extended part for articulated fingers. Some of Paper Replika Friends already finished building the leg part, it stands almost 70 cm, so it's exceeded the height from the original plan and also taller from the actual Hulkbuster height in 1:6 scale. Both arms can be posed but with limitation, it can't fully bend the elbow. Enjoy the model and happy building it, don't forget to post the built photos on Paper Replika's Facebook page wall.

Hulkbuster Paper Model - Hip and Leg

E-mail Print

Finally the Hulk-buster paper model part 3 is released. This leg part template contains 35 pages of patterns. I use new articulation joints design on this action model figure, never been used before in any Paper Replika models. By using 2 or 3 mm hardboard or cardboard for easier assembly and cut the build time tremendously and strength on the joints and bones structure. The assembly instructions only cover the hip and the right leg parts. The left leg parts are using the same number as the counter part, so be careful and read the page title, before cutting the pattern. After this I will not making other models except the arms set of the Hulk-buster. I want to finish it all, on this April. The blank template will be released tomorrow.

F4U Corsair Aircraft Paper Model

E-mail Print

This F4U Corsair paper model template is one of my design that was derived from my foam RC plane plans. I made a 1:8 scale model of this aircraft that can really fly made out of depron foam. Many friends wanted a paper model version of it so I made this. Designing paper model template is pretty similar with designing plans for my RC plane, but making paper model template is a lot harder. In paper model you still need to add color while in RC plane you can apply color with paint. The scale of this template is 1:33, the same scale as my previous P51D Mustang. The reason I make this template is Corsair is a beautiful and unique plane. I already fan this plane since I was a kid, there was a TV series titled "Black Sheep Squadron" back in 80s. I love watching that show on every Sunday at noon. The show was made from the real history. That squadron is lead by Major Pappy Boyington and based on an airstrip in one of the pacific island. While the livery I choose for this paper model is based on carrier and one of the "Jolly Rogers Squadron". You may look it familiar, the look is pretty similar to "Skipper", a character from Disney Planes animated movie, it's because Skipper and his Squadron, the Jolly Wrenches is a parody from the real Jolly Rogers Squadron. Number 29 is piloted by Lt. Ira Cassius "Ike" Kepford, an ace pilot with 16 confirmed kills on Japanese aircraft.
