This simple Transformers Bumblebee paper model template was on Cinemags magazine on July edition 2011 as a bonus. Actually I never intend to share this, until one of my Facebook friend asked me for permission to build this robot alien and he said he got the file from a foreign site. I thought this is not right, so I decided to share it with you all so the source of this template can still be trace, it is from a magazine bonus. Cinemags is a monthly movie magazine here in Indonesia. This template I shared with you here is slightly bigger than in the magazine bonus. This is not the first time I share a magazine bonus that I've design, the first was a Maxim girl paper craft from MAXIM Indonesia magazine. Enjoy the model. Hahaha you know? I just remember about one post in 9Gag about how society thought about what us been doing as modelers, Enjoy the model? if you know what I mean. I mean enjoy the template of this paper model hehehe.
Unfolding 3D Model in Pepakura Designer Tutorial
For a quite a long time since the last time I update this tutorial section. So here it is the next step which is unfolding step in Pepakura 3D Designer (Pep). Remember in the previous tutorials that Pep can’t edit the 3d file, it only help us to convert 3D planes into 2D planes and has the ability to edit and adjust the layout and flaps position. I’m going to use the same model as the last tutorial.
Stormtrooper Helmet with EVA Foam Pepakura
I was a bit boring with paper model so I decided to refresh my mood for a while. I decided to make a full armor costume of Sandtrooper, I think this imperial unit is really cool, with all the stuff in his backpack and a big gun. I started with the most difficult part, the helmet. So I began searching for the existing pepakura template on RPF.com and found one that in my opinion is quite detail and accurate. It is ANH Hero TK helmet pepakura file unfolded by Fierfek. The original pep was unfolded solely for making resin helmet master purpose, so the segments are too many to be made by using foam. I want to use EVA foam for the helmet and rest of the armor material because it's cheap, very easy to cut and bend and also very lightweight. Then I edit the file by reducing 3d segments, replace some parts with new parts, and edit the 3d a bit to be use as a template that specially setup for foam material. I even create a photo album for this project in my Facebook as you can see the photos below. This pep file scale is set to 1 (1:1 scale), the complete helmet is 27 cm / 10.6 inches in height (my size), if you want make it bigger change the scale with 1.1 if you want to have 110% size or 1.05 for 105%.
Applejack - My Little Pony Paper Craft
There was many request from many Paper Replika friends, for me to make another Pony paper craft. So this is it, after quite a long time I created a template of Applejack. The shape I use for Applejack is the 3D shape of Fluttershy and modify her leg pose a bit. Also in Paper Replika page, there was a request to make pony’s hair to become more three dimensional. Applejack hair and tail already has a 3D shape. And there is another improvement, I managed to fit all the parts only in 2 pages.
Ford Mustang GT - Death Race Paper Model
This amazing model car paper model template was submitted by Deák Gál Laci from Hungary. The car is from the movie Death Race (2006) called the Monster, owned by a driver named Frankenstein. It is a heavily modified Ford Mustang GT equipped with two gatling gun mounted on top of the hood. The texture of this model is amazing, I like it a lot. It gives a sense of scale and realism. By looking at its 8 pages of patterns, this paper model is not for beginner. There are many small and very small parts that have to handle with special care, skill and precision. Deák also made the assembly instructions available in PDF.
